Learning to Type with Mavis 16

Today you will begin your keyboarding lessons with Mavis 16. This is a fun software program that teaches you how to type based on your current skill level.

You will use the following steps to begin:

1. Open the Applications Folder
   
2. Open the MB Teaches Typing 16 folder
   
3. Open Mavis 16
   
4. Wait for the program to begin
   
5. Click "Create a New User"
   
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your account
   
7. Type your period# before your First Name when you create your account name
   
8. After you click "Finish" wait for Ms. Kline in the "Classroom" area
   
9. Click "Go To" on the lower left side of the screen
   
10. Select "Lesson Area"
    
11. Click on "Beginner Typist"
    
12. Get into proper hand and body position
    
13. Start the lesson by reading the screen and clicking "Begin" when you are ready
