Customizing Firefox's Search Engine
Firefox has a built-in search engine text box to help you search for information on the Internet. Firefox's search engine text box is located on the navigation toolbar at the top of the browser window. It is set to Google by default. This search engine text box is customizable to allow you to add a variety of search engines such as:
- Wikipedia
- Creative Commons (to find pictures, music, writing, etc. in the public domain)
- Project Gutenberg (to find electronic books in the public domain)
- News
- Movies
- Sports
- Weather
- And many more!
- Click on the drop-down arrow in the search bar
- Click "Manage Search Engines"
- Click "Get more search engines"
- Research and choose a search engine
- Click "OK" to confirm selection
- The search engine is now available to use in the text box drop-down menu
- Add as many search engines as you want
- Click on the drop-down arrow in the search engine text box
- Choose the search engine you want
- Enter your query
- Search results are displayed in the current browser window
