Black History Month/Civil Rights Internet Research Project

Now that you know how to find web sites and images on the internet, you will use your new skills to find information specific to the "Black History Month/Civil Rights" theme. You will have the rest of this week to complete this assignment.

Follow these steps to complete the project:
  • Open a new blank document and save it as: Period#+LastName+FirstName+CivilRights (no spaces)
  • Open www.google.com in Firefox
  • Enter "civil rights" in the search bar
  • Click on the link: "Civil Rights Movement Timeline"
  • Highlight and copy the URL in the Firefox address bar then paste it in your document
  • Research this web site
  • Highlight and copy a paragraph of information that you find interesting then paste it in your document under the URL
  • Find an image you like from this site and copy and paste it below the paragraph
  • Return to the Google civil rights search results page
  • Click on the link: "The National Civil Rights Museum"
  • Follow the same steps as for the first web site
  • Return to the Google civil rights search results page
  • Click on the link: "Voices of Civil Rights" (This is a sponsored link)
  • Follow the same steps as the first web site
  • Return to the Google civil rights search results page
  • Click on the link: "civilrights.org"
  • Follow the same steps as for the first web site
  • Don't forget to save your work!
  • Log in to Ms. Kline's server account and save a copy in the drop box for sharing next week
