Technology I Class To Be Featured on Channel 31's "Education First" Program!

Today the Technology I class will be interviewed and filmed for an upcoming "Education First" feature on Channel 31!

Co-anchor Jeff Gothard will interview David Hernandez and Ngoc Tran for their outstanding typing speeds. Both students type over 110 WPM on their fastest timings!

David Hernandez will also be featured for his success at recent California FBLA competitions representing Spurgeon in the Creed Event. David placed 2nd overall at the Southern Section Conference in March and then went on to place 10th at the State Leadership Conference this past April.

The rest of the broadcast will focus on the entire class and their activities. This is the fastest class in the five year history of Ms. Kline's Technology I class with three students, Pamela Phot, Pedro O'Campo, John Cao typing in the 80 WPM range and Shane Jones at 78 WPM!

Mayra Cardenas and Pamela Phot will be interviewed demonstrating how to make a video by showing the equipment and editing procedures, then they will demonstrate show their DVD autobiography compilation.

Final Technology I Video Projects

Technology I students are now experienced movie producers!

You are all able to:
  • Prepare a storyboard
  • Plan scenes
  • Write a script
  • Prepare & set up audio & video equipment
  • Videotape scenes
  • Import and edit video
  • Dub audio
  • Add soundtrack/video effects/etc.
  • Add production credits
  • Export the final production to miniDV tape/DVD
Now you will work on your final projects: "Spurgeon Scenes." These projects will be reviewed by SAUSD's own Channel 31 Department, and if they are well-produced, they will be aired on Channel 31 over the summer for a "Student Video Projects" segment!

The four current projects are:
  • Spurgeon's ASB
  • Spurgeon's Teachers
  • Spurgeon's AVID Program
  • Talent Search
We are really looking forward to your latest productions!
